Mothers with high cervix during pregnancy please help?

ok so i have been going to the docs and for some weeks now they have had a hard time finding my cervix. the doc finally found it today but she said i was still closed. i know the story about how the baby will come when she is ready but i would like to help move things along. what can i do to help the labor process i am not talking about finding something that will make me go in to labor tonight i just dont want to go past the 40 weeks. my parents are here for the holidays and i woul looove to have my baby while they are here. what can i do to help the process???? and if anyone whos had a high cervix can you please share your labor story to just give me hope.
