Most individual plans with maternity plans only cover pregnancy that begin after you have had the insurance for at least some length of time (such as a year). Even if the doctor lists a date of conception after April 1, it may not be enough after April 1 to help. Either way, you are unlikely to have coverage for this pregnancy. Especially since your period was due on approximately March 16, which means that if you are pregnant, then fertilization would have been approximately one month before the effective date of the new insurance plan.
