What to pack for New Orleans trip? (end of Feb-beginning of March)?

My husband, 2 1/2 year old son, and I are traveling to New Orleans for a family vacation. I am a seasoned traveler, but this upcoming adventure is boggling me! We're going at the end of February and returning in the beginning of March. What kind of clothes should we pack so as to be comfortable with the temperature/season. (We live in the North, so I know it'll feel a lot warmer to us.) Any other things I should definitely bring. Tips on things to do would be great too!
